New to me since yesterday, ( 15th October ) -

here is a plan

Whats is an SDG Incubator ? Here is a model

ABOUT INCUBATOR FOR SDGS

In support of social enterprises with purpose that are aligned with one or more SDGs, the Incubator For SDGs was another initiative by CDL in 2019, in partnership with UNDP, raiSE, and Social Collider. Located at the basement of Republic Plaza, Incubator For SDGs provides rent-free workspaces for selected social enterprises and start-ups for a year. Currently occupied by eight social enterprises and start-ups, these companies will also be able to tap into an extensive network of management experts to help them scale up and reach out to potential investors and markets. To align with CDL’s low-carbon vision, 70% of the fitting out materials were made from sustainable sources or recycled materials.

"By a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), CSR Europe and the UN Global Compact intend to collaborate on engaging multi-stakeholder networks at the national level. The MoU also outlines: advancing learning networks and opportunities for business practitioners to advance sustainability practices toward achieving the SDGs; developing projects with greater practical impact; and supporting smart policy measures to advance a “level playing field.”

Also on learning networks, CSR Europe launched the Sustainable Business Exchange, which is a learning network to help companies embrace the circular economy, rethink the value chain, foster innovative partnerships and business models, and encourage sustainable consumption and production (SCP). It also launched an ‘SDG Incubator’ to facilitate pilot projects between companies, civil society and governments."

The Learning Street is exploring how to best open an "SDG Incubator" in Kakuma Camp, Kenya with a view to leading the way in Africa for more... This came about after a very interesting presentation from Kok-Chin Tay in Singapore, Chairman at Smart Cities Network.
